US to give 2.4 mln dollars for refugees in Greece

US Ambassador to Greece Geoffrey Pyatt on Thursday conveyed to Alternate Minister of Migration & Asylum Giorgos Koumoutsakos the State Department’s decision to offer Greece additional humanitarian aid.

As announced Wednesday by the State Department, the United States will allocate 2.45 million dollars for refugees and migrants in Greece, in view of additional needs caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

A ministry announcement noted that this latest aid comes on top of the 600,000 dollars of US aid announced for Greece on April 17.
