HSBC appoints a new CEO for Greece

HSBC announces that Peter Yeates assumes responsibility as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ΗSBC Greece, effective from 28 January 2019. He will succeed Steve Banner, who after four and a half years in Greece has been appointed CEO HSBC Bermuda.

Peter Yeates has over 30 years of international banking experience covering  Commercial Banking, Retail Banking and Wealth Management, Private Banking and Strategy. He joins HSBC Greece from London, where he held a strategic role in the Global Banking and Markets Business. Before that he spent four years as Chief Executive Officer in Lebanon.

His successor, Peter Yeates, has strong international experience, acquired from roles in Asia, USA and Europe, and I am convinced that he will continue to enhance customer experience and grow HSBC’s business opportunities in Greece.”

On his appointment Peter Yeates said: “I am very honoured to have been appointed as CEO Greece and I am looking forward to working with the team in Greece to continue to position HSBC as the bank of choice for our customers in this important European market.”

In Greece, HSBC operates since 1981 with presence in Athens and Thessaloniki. HSBC offers banking services to individuals as well as to corporate and institutional clients.
