FM Dendias to meet with Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh on Tuesday

Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias will visit Israel and the Palestinian territories on Tuesday, a foreign ministry announcement said on Monday.

In a ministry announcement released on Monday evening, it was noted that the meeting of Dendias with his Palestinian counterpart Riyad al Maliki, which had been scheduled for 12 noon on Tuesday, will not be held, due to a change in the Palestinian official’s scheduling. Instead, Dendias will be meeting with Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh.

Dendias will hold meetings with Patriarch of Jerusalem Theophilos III, and with his Israeli counterpart Gabi Ashkenazi.

Moreover, Dendias will take part in the urgent teleconference of EU Foreign Ministers called by EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell about the developments in the region. Later, he will visit Jordan to meet with his Jordanian counterpart Ayman Safadi.

Finally, on Thursday Dendias will visit Cairo where he will meet with Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry.
